Specialized Services to improve Women’s Mental Health

Turn to our practice for dedicated care and support for women's mental health, centrally located in Chantilly, VA. At Perinatal Mental Health Project, we offer specialized services to manage Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) and meet our patients’ behavioral health needs. From medication management to collaboration with other mental health providers for inpatient hospitalization and partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient programs (PHP/IOP), our providers are here to help.
Our services are currently available via telehealth, ensuring convenient and accessible care for our patients. We are currently in-network with Aetna, Carefirst BCBS, Cigna, and United Healthcare.

Perinatal Mental Health Project supports women's mental health through the lifespan. With a specialty focus during pregnancy and after childbirth, we aim to address mood and anxiety disorders that may arise during those times.

About Kasie M. Cassell, Owner/Founder

Kasie M. Cassell is a dual-licensed, board-certified women's health and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She is certified in Perinatal Mental Health by Postpartum Support International. With over 19 years of experience in healthcare, Kasie has dedicated the past nine years to working with pregnant and postpartum women, specializing in perinatal mental health. She is a veteran of the United States Air Force.
After working as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, Kasie recognized the need for specialized care in perinatal mental health. Her experience with postpartum depression after the birth of her daughter in 2013 inspired her work with women suffering from PMADs. She established the Perinatal Mental Health Project in April 2023, focusing on meeting women's unique mental health needs during the lifespan, and specializes in working with pregnant and postpartum moms.
Education, Publications, Awards and Recognitions
Kasie is a Board of Trustee Member at Stone Springs Hospital Center and was honored as a Women of Distinction in 2017. She was recognized by The International Nurses Association as a Worldwide Leader in Healthcare and Top Nurse Practitioner in 2016. She published an Op Ed in the Richmond Times-Dispatch on the importance of social support for women with postpartum depression.
